Features: The Gu Liang was traditionally passed down orally during the Warring States period. According to Tang Dynasty accounts, the initial transmitter of The Gu Liang Commentary was a person named Gu Liang Chu, who also went by the name Chi and the courtesy name Yuan Shi, claiming to have studied the classics under Zixia, a disciple of Confucius. However, later research has revealed that The Gu Liang Commentary once quoted "Gu Liang said," which actually referred to itself, and the book also included references to and refutations of statements by Gong Yangzi. Therefore, some scholars believe it was compiled later than The Gong Yang Commentary.
