Features: The cultural exchange between China and Japan is not only long-standing but also unique in form. Historically, it can be traced back to the educational exchanges during the Qin and Han dynasties, with at least two millennia of history. In terms of form, the exchange of personnel was hindered by the vast seas, making books the primary medium for cultural reception. In recent years, Professor Wang Yong of the Institute of Japanese Culture at Zhejiang University proposed the concept of the "Book Road," aiming to break away from the traditional framework of the "Silk Road" and establish a new model for cultural exchange in East Asia. This academic initiative has garnered attention from both domestic and international media and academia. This book is a comprehensive summary of the aforementioned research to date, intended to elucidate the civilizational significance of the "Book Road" between China and Japan: If silk symbolizes the material civilization of China, then books embody more of the spiritual creativity of Chinese civilization, thus possessing a powerful regenerative capacity that can transcend time and space to benefit future generations.
