Features: Xixi's novels exude a gentle charm reminiscent of a Jiangnan scholar, expressing love with passion but not intensity, beauty without melancholy. Xixi's writing is youthful yet rich in texture, always softening the smoky hues of daily life. In an increasingly materialized reality, Love on the Left Bank is a whimsical work. Love on the Left Bank is a portrayal of adolescent emotional confusion, filled with poetry and bohemian elegance. Critic Meng Huafang summarized it as "a love commune formed by four young men and women." The novel does not focus on plot but rather delves into the inner lives of its characters. Its language and emotions carry the distinct Jiangnan flavor of the author, while its techniques show clear traces of French literary influence.
