Features: The Zhuang people have a long and rich history. As early as 2,000 years ago during the Zhou Dynasty, their ancestors were recorded in ancient texts under names such as Oudeng, Guo, Sunzi, Chani, and Jiujun. Since ancient times, the Zhuang people and their ancestors have thrived in the South China–Pearl River Basin, forming a unique geographical unit with its own distinct culture. This book comprehensively, systematically, and deeply examines and studies the Zhuang natural worship culture. Through the proposal of concepts such as the Zhuang natural worship culture cluster, the Zhuang natural worship culture assemblage, and the Zhuang worship culture circle, as well as the study of the interactive cyclical relationships among the subculture circles within the Zhuang natural worship culture and the connections between Zhuang natural worship culture and the natural worship cultures of the Zhuang-Dong ethnic group, the Han ethnic group, and other ethnic groups in China, it reveals the characteristics and types of Zhuang natural worship culture, as well as the cultural connotations of life-and-death worship culture and the "Na" culture embedded within it.
Guided by Marx's theory of "two forms of production," this work applies theories and materials from disciplines such as anthropology, mythology, ethnology, archaeology, and folkloristics. It pays close attention to the interactive cyclical relationships between the natural environment, production methods, and civilizational structures, comprehensively, systematically, and deeply examining and studying the Zhuang natural worship culture. Through the proposal of concepts such as the Zhuang natural worship culture cluster, the Zhuang natural worship culture assemblage, and the Zhuang worship culture circle, as well as the study of the interactive cyclical relationships among the subculture circles within the Zhuang natural worship culture and the connections between Zhuang natural worship culture and the natural worship cultures of the Zhuang-Dong ethnic group, the Han ethnic group, and other ethnic groups in China, it reveals the characteristics and types of Zhuang natural worship culture, as well as the cultural connotations of life-and-death worship culture and the "Na" culture embedded within it.
In summary, this work, with an interdisciplinary academic perspective, deciphers the characteristics and unique cultural connotations of Zhuang natural worship culture through in-depth empirical research.
