Patient's question:
Male25
I've been married for almost a year, but my wife hasn't gotten pregnant yet. Will we be infertile?
Doctor's answer:
Pregnancy is a rather complex process, requiring multiple conditions to be met by both partners. For the female, factors such as endocrine function, ovulation, fallopian tubes, uterus, and cervical canal must be normal. For the male, factors like endocrine function, testes, vas deferens, and sperm must also be normal. For the female:
- On days 3-5 of the menstrual period, an electrochemical luminescence method is used to check endocrine function.
- 3-5 days after the menstrual period ends, a vaginal mirror examination, dynamic digital hysterosalpingography, and vaginal four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound are performed.
- Generally, this can confirm the diagnosis. If the cause still cannot be identified, further examination with an electronic hysteroscope or laparoscope is needed.
