Patient's question:
Doctor,My vagina is white, as if generally speaking, a woman's vagina is red. There is nothing uncomfortable with my body. What could be the reason?
Doctor's answer:
Consider the possibility of candidal vulvovaginitis. Patients with candidal vulvovaginitis exhibit increased vaginal discharge, itching and burning sensation in the external genitalia and vagina, painful urination, and often redness and edema around the external genitalia. The skin changes can vary widely. All cases of candidal vulvovaginitis should be treated for three menstrual cycles continuously. Normal vaginal discharge should be checked three times before and after menstruation to confirm cure. Additionally, underwear, bed sheets, and other items should be exposed to sunlight and boiled for disinfection to prevent recurrence. A 2% to 4% baking soda solution can be used to rinse the vagina once or twice daily, with two weeks constituting one course of treatment.
