The System of National Accounts (SNA) is the accounting system implemented by the vast majority of countries in the world today. It consists of a set of logically rigorous, coordinated, and comprehensive macroeconomic accounts, balance sheets, and tables. Under this framework, national economic accounting, through a set of standardized concepts, definitions, classifications, and accounting rules, enables economic data to be compiled and presented in a structured manner to meet the needs of economic analysis, decision-making, and policy formulation. At the fundamental level, it objectively reflects the conditions, processes, and outcomes of an economy or region's economic operation. Just as a man-made satellite in space can monitor the weather across the continents of the Earth, national economic accounting provides a comprehensive picture of the state of economic operation. Through it, we can not only see the overall picture of economic operation but also obtain information about its internal structure, often referred to as "seeing both the forest and the trees." For this reason, national economic accounting plays a significant role in macroeconomic analysis and management.
