Will potassium permanganate delay menstruation?

Patient's question:

Please ask, because of eczema, I used potassium permanganate, but found that my period was delayed. Does potassium permanganate cause the period to be delayed?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, it will not have an impact. Potassium permanganate is toxic and has certain corrosive properties. Inhalation can cause respiratory damage. If it falls into the eyes, it can irritate the conjunctiva, leading to severe burns in serious cases. It turns the skin brownish-black after irritation. Concentrated solutions or crystals are corrosive to the skin and irritating to tissues. If ingested, it can severely corrode the mouth and digestive tract, causing symptoms such as a burning sensation in the mouth, upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and swelling of the mouth and throat. In cases of large oral doses, the oral mucosa may turn blackish-brown, swell, and erode, leading to gastric bleeding, liver and kidney damage, severe abdominal pain, vomiting, bloody stools, shock, and ultimately death from circulatory failure. The lethal dose of pure potassium permanganate is approximately 10g.
