During the examination, the amniotic fluid was measured at 51mm. How come it hasn't changed? Medical history and treatment effectiveness: No treatment has been administered. What kind of help do you want: What is the normal amount of amniotic fluid?

Doctor's answer:

Hello! During pregnancy, if the amniotic fluid volume exceeds 2000 milliliters, it is often referred to as polyhydramnios, with an incidence rate of 1% to 3%. Approximately one-third of cases of polyhydramnios have an unknown cause, but some severe cases may be associated with fetal abnormalities and pregnancy complications. Fetal abnormalities include neural tube defects in the fetus, such as anencephaly, spina bifida, and meningocele, as well as gastrointestinal abnormalities, chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus, twin pregnancies, maternal diabetes, fetal edema, and placental and umbilical cord lesions.
During ultrasound, if the maximum depth of amniotic fluid is greater than 8 centimeters, it is considered polyhydramnios. A depth of 8 to 11 centimeters is classified as mild polyhydramnios, 12 to 15 centimeters as moderate polyhydramnios, and greater than 16 centimeters as severe polyhydramnios.
