Features: China is a country with a long history of poetry. This land has produced an immense number of renowned poetic masterpieces, which have been widely circulated in past eras and continue to be cherished by readers today. To popularize ancient poetry, many anthologies have been published, each with its own unique characteristics due to different selection criteria and annotation methods. The selection of works in this book takes into account both their ideological content and artistic value, with a particular emphasis on the concept of "excellence." Only the finest and most celebrated poems and works have been included. Of course, for the sake of convenience, the selection has been further refined, featuring only 274 poems and 267 ci poems. The book is divided into two parts: "Poetry Selection" and "Ci Selection." To provide a historical context, the works are arranged in chronological order by the authors' time periods. The annotations are concise and clear, primarily aimed at resolving doubts about words and phrases, with explanations provided for more difficult passages. Author biographies are arranged chronologically and compiled at the back of the book for easy reference. During the compilation and annotation process, references and insights were drawn from the works of previous scholars and contemporary experts. To avoid unnecessary details, specific citations are omitted, and sincere gratitude is expressed here! Due to limited expertise, there may be imperfections in the selection and annotations. We hope for the critical feedback and corrections of readers.
