Features: Better Homes & Gardens refines the American home decor style, encompassing the diverse cultures of the United States. It blends home styles from various countries and regions, fully showcasing the richness, elegance, warmth, and comfort of American homes. This book explores two major aspects of decorative details. Focus on details—getting close to the "hard" elements in the home; Experience details—immersing in the "soft" elements of the home; Detailed examples—bringing direct inspiration and emotional experiences.
Often, clients ask me to design American-style homes, but when asked to describe their ideal American style, they struggle to provide specific answers. In reality, the so-called American style is just a broad concept. Those who love this style—how should we understand it? I immediately thought of some sensory words: warm and practical, comfortable and colorful, exquisite and luxurious, and humanistic.
To be more targeted, I collaborated with Better Homes & Gardens, the largest women's magazine in the United States, to write this book. It provides a detailed interpretation of the application of details in two parts—architectural elements and "soft" decorations—covering a total of 13 chapters. In the latter part of the book, I have selected six outstanding and practical case studies for you. Whether you are an ordinary reader who loves American home life or a professional interior designer seeking a deeper understanding of American home design, I believe this book will be helpful to you.
