Pulmonary Diseases: Radiographic Imaging and Pathological Correlation

Author: Muller.N

Features: This book has two main purposes: one is to provide an overview of the radiographic features and pathological manifestations of common lung parenchymal and airway diseases, and the other is to correlate imaging abnormalities as closely as possible with disease changes. Although the work of these two specialists is usually independent, we do not believe it should be. Radiologists need to understand the pathological manifestations of lung diseases to fully comprehend the morphology and distribution of lesions on radiographic images. Similarly, pathologists' understanding of imaging findings, especially the overall morphology and distribution of diseases, is often very helpful in making specific diagnoses. The radiographic focus of this book is on high-resolution CT, which can provide the best anatomical features, while the pathological imaging focus includes gross pathological specimens and histological manifestations, such as hematoxylin and eosin-stained microscopic histology. When better to illustrate the radiographic and pathological features, we also include materials on other imaging and staining methods. This book on lung diseases will provide a useful tool for residents in radiology, pathology, thoracic surgery, and pulmonary medicine, as well as funded graduate students and clinical doctors.
