Features: The book features relevance, practicality, and extensibility, meaning its content is closely aligned with the "English" textbook in terms of arrangement, emphasizing the application of language knowledge and skills in real-life scenarios, and further expanding language knowledge, skills, and interdisciplinary perspectives. Each volume of "English Second Classroom" contains 12 lessons: 10 teaching lessons and 2 review lessons. Each teaching lesson consists of six parts:
(1) Mini Theater: Uses new scenarios to recreate the vocabulary and sentence patterns from the corresponding modules of the "English" textbook, consolidating the content students learn outside of class. The rich and vivid language scenarios not only stimulate students' interest in learning but also improve their ability to use language. At the same time, students can learn several new words and sentence patterns in the situational short plays, expanding their language knowledge and skills.
(2) Studio: Reinforces the vocabulary and sentence patterns students have learned through English songs and rhyming poems. These songs and chants, written or selected based on the teaching content, have a clear rhythm and dynamic energy, not only helping students master correct pronunciation and intonation but also effectively enlivening the classroom atmosphere and stimulating their enthusiasm for learning.
(3) Rock Climbing Club: Utilizes a variety of listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities to consolidate and expand the language knowledge and skills students have learned. The exercises are closely aligned with teaching objectives and are presented in lively and diverse forms, allowing students to grasp key concepts and difficulties through these engaging and fun activities.
(4) Fun Tasks: Adopts the strategy of "task-based learning" to guide students in completing a hands-on, brain-stimulating task in English. These tasks are designed to suit the characteristics of primary school students, are highly practical in language application, and are both novel and feasible. Students complete these tasks independently or in groups, not only applying language skills but also enhancing their sense of achievement.
(5) Kaleidoscope: Introduces cultural background knowledge related to the learning content, gradually cultivating students' cross-cultural awareness while expanding their horizons. The content is interactive, encouraging student participation. New words and sentence patterns can also be used as optional learning materials.
(6) Treasure House: Presents a variety of topics such as Western and Eastern festivals, world wonders, famous quotes, and classic fairy tales through thematic introductions, showcasing the colorful world of English learning to students. Each volume introduces one theme, with content that is interesting and easy to understand, making it simple and accessible.
