Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "putting people first and establishing the school with virtue," forming a distinctive educational characteristic of "comprehensive development with special talents" and exploring a teaching style of "seeking truth, refinement, novelty, and innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality-oriented education, and only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements. When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What is its ability to turn sand into a tower? What is its skill to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test-setters and deeply grasp their underlying principles, becoming a leader rather than a blind follower. Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates students stepping out of it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and monotonous exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to engage in flexible, diverse, and widely applicable problems, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the problem-solving process. If there is any other success Huanggang High School has achieved, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged its teaching staff, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic skills, and abundant teaching achievements. To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized first-line core teachers from the school to meticulously plan and compile three series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Questions." The "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Questions" series adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. Whether in terms of the quantity and difficulty of open-ended or conventional problems, it strives to closely align with the college entrance exams, practicality, innovation, and utility. Targeting the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of college entrance exam review, we have positioned the first-round training questions as unit exercises, the second-round training questions as thematic exercises, and the third-round training questions as simulated exam papers, comprehensively and progressively addressing the problems students encounter during the third-round review from three perspectives and levels. Part of the content of this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part is newly supplemented based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions, now compiled and published for the first time. This series also embodies the following writing philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate exercise positioning: In terms of exercise arrangement, this series focuses on the reinforcement and gradual improvement of key knowledge points, related examination points, question types, and methods, with the complexity and difficulty of the exercises progressively approaching the college entrance exams.
2. Detailed solution hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough explanations provided for difficult problems. The well-placed hints in the series often play a pivotal role. This series emphasizes the originality, quantity, and quality of the authors' questions, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the supplementary education market.
