Features: Landscape couplets that offer philosophical insights and inspiration. Some say that seeing a scene is not as good as hearing about it, but in my experience, hearing about a scene is not as good as reading about it. By reading the essence of landscape couplets, poems, and prose, one can cultivate their character and enjoy the beauty. Beyond appreciation, this book serves as a reference for those studying or composing landscape couplets. This book selects and compiles 3,000 landscape couplets written by famous figures throughout history for scenic spots and historical sites. They are categorized into 12 sections: Heaven and Earth, Sun and Moon, Four Seasons, Mountains and Waters, Mountains and Rocks, Rivers and Springs, Lakes and Seas, Flowers and Trees, Animals, Great Wall, Sightseeing, and Others. These landscape couplets not only provide aesthetic enjoyment but also cultivate one's character, serving as both a source of appreciation and learning. Not all the couplets included in this book are carved or hung at scenic spots; some are composed by ancient and modern couplet masters who were not carved or have since been lost. For some famous scenic spots, the provincial and municipal names are omitted in the notes, and only the scenic spot names are directly listed to avoid redundancy.
