Features: The extensive accumulation of vocabulary relies on expanding the scope of reading. For this purpose, the book selects articles from both the carefully chosen medical ancient Chinese textbooks and the published medical ancient Chinese reading materials over the years. Additionally, it collects a considerable number of excellent passages from medical works and non-medical works related to medicine, totaling 150 articles, making its quantity the highest among all published medical ancient Chinese materials. These are divided into five units: Medical Love Biographies, Literary Medical Discourses, Medical Practitioners' Discourses, Prefaces to Medical Works, and Miscellaneous Works Including Philosophical Classics, Notes, Medical Cases, and Medical Conversations. Additionally, there are several appendices of famous literary and historical works. Each unit is divided into three parts: intensive reading, extensive reading, and selective reading, all arranged in the order of their publication. The intensive reading section includes 32 articles, plus 8 appendices, covering all the key articles specified in the self-study examination for Traditional Chinese Medicine. The annotations in this section are detailed and clear, avoiding tedious textual research, and are organized into segments with explanations of the main ideas. Additionally, a direct translation of the full text is provided. For convenience, the original text and translation are arranged side by side. The extensive reading section includes 58 articles, generally of higher difficulty, also organized into segments with concise summaries of the main ideas and detailed annotations. The selective reading section includes 52 articles with relatively easier text and selective annotations. Each unit provides key content summaries with the following columns: homophones, ancient and modern characters, variant characters, and nominal words, as well as the use of nominal words, fixed phrases of function words, word order, and modern translations. Each unit also includes exercises and their answers. This book focuses on selecting content closely related to reading practice and various medical ancient Chinese examinations for introduction.
