Features: Images, text, illustrations, and title text are one of the important elements in newspaper layout, constituting part of the newspaper content. Modern newspaper layout has widely adopted computer-based desktop publishing software systems. Therefore, images and illustrations must be input into computers for graphic processing. Graphic processing refers to the treatment that improves the quality of input graphics, changing the form of graphics for certain purposes, using encoding methods for data compression, conducting feature analysis and computation for interpretation and understanding of graphics, and applying different processing methods for different modes and formats of graphics. After images undergo various graphic processing in computer software, they produce magical and unpredictable effects, enhancing the visual impact of the original work and attracting the viewer's attention. Although the title text, images, and illustrations in campus newspapers mostly involve campus culture and life, the graphic processing methods are the same as those used in other types of newspapers. When readers perform graphic processing for other types of newspapers, they can also refer to the methods and related content provided in this book. Below, we will focus on introducing some basic knowledge and operational methods of graphic design and processing.
