Features: Encyclopaedia Sinica (Concise Collector's Edition, 4 Volumes): Encyclopaedia Sinica is a large-scale comprehensive dictionary that combines the functions of a dictionary, a language and literature dictionary, and an encyclopedic dictionary, organized by characters. It was first published in Shanghai by the Commercial Press in 1936. Subsequently, the 1979 and 1989 editions of Encyclopaedia Sinica were published on the occasion of the 30th and 40th anniversaries of the founding of the People's Republic of China. These two editions each had three-volume, concise, supplemented, and subject-specific volumes. Among them, the three-volume and concise editions had a cumulative circulation of over five million copies. In 1992, Shanghai Press and Donghua Book Company cooperated to publish Encyclopaedia Sinica (1989 edition) in Taiwan. In 1993, Encyclopaedia Sinica won the First National Book Award – the Honor Award. Encyclopaedia Sinica (1999 edition) appeared before readers with a new look in both content and form. This edition has slightly increased in length compared to the 1989 edition, with numerous revisions to entries, primarily reflecting changes in domestic and international situations and the development of cultural science and technology, filling gaps, correcting errors, and simplifying a small number of entries and definitions. This edition also introduces a color-illustrated version, featuring over 16,000 images, with a redesigned layout divided into four volumes, plus appendices and an index volume. Additionally, the popular edition (three volumes) continues to be published, and a concise edition is also released, along with subject-specific volumes and CDs. This book is the concise edition, containing a total of 19,485 single characters (including traditional and variant characters), of which 17,674 are listed as character heads. The character heads and the entries listed under them (including general and encyclopedic terms) total 122,835 entries.
A Mirror with No Reflection (starring Tao Hong and Jiang Wu, 20 VCDs): This is a story commonly seen in our lives but rarely on the screen, with a unique style different from the popular detective, martial arts, and youth idol dramas. The Sun family is an ordinary one. Sister Sun Li is intelligent and beautiful, working at an advertising agency after graduating from university. Sister Sun Yan is upright and kind, selling meal tickets in the factory canteen. The two sisters are pursuing their own happiness. Sun Li's emotions wander among Ma Liming, a fellow from their childhood, Zhang Bo, a researcher, and Richard and Mike, Americans. She between China and the U.S. Sun Yan married a primary school teacher, Zhai Zhigang, fell in love with her divorced brother-in-law Zhang Bo, and ultimately married her first love, Pan Shulin. Father passed away, and Sun Li, who had divorced again, returned from the U.S. with her son to attend the funeral. Seeing Sun Yan and Pan Shulin's newlywed family atmosphere, Sun Li felt a mix of emotions.
