Features: Adult higher education is an important part of China's higher education, cultivating and training millions of specialized talents, and comprehensively promoting quality education. It serves a wide range of employed working professionals, contributing to local social and economic development, which is the main task of adult higher education. In recent years, China's higher education has entered a new stage of mass education, and the development of adult higher education and the structure of its student body have undergone significant changes. In the new context, to better accommodate the diverse backgrounds of adult college entrance exam candidates and highlight the characteristics of adult higher education, the Ministry of Education revised the "National General Adult Higher Education Institutions Enrollment Review and Examination Syllabus" (hereinafter referred to as "the Syllabus") issued in 2002, based on research and surveys and the opinions of relevant experts. The revised Syllabus fully considers the different learning backgrounds of adult candidates and emphasizes testing their grasp of fundamental knowledge and their practical abilities in analyzing and solving problems. The new Syllabus includes two parts: senior high school entry to undergraduate and junior college, and junior college entry to undergraduate. The senior high school entry to undergraduate and junior college Syllabus covers eight subjects: Chinese, Chinese (for ethnic minority candidates in areas where ethnic minority languages are used for teaching, who take the Chinese language exam for adult higher education institutions), mathematics, English, Japanese, Russian, physics and chemistry, and history and geography. It is published in one volume by the People's Education Press and the Higher Education Press. The junior college entry to undergraduate Syllabus includes ten subjects: English, politics, university Chinese, introduction to art, advanced mathematics (I), advanced mathematics (II), civil law, education theory, basic ecology, and medical comprehensive. To facilitate the review of candidates for different disciplines and majors, it is divided into five volumes and published by the Higher Education Press. The Syllabus is intended for candidates taking the adult college entrance exam in October 2005 for enrollment in the spring of 2006. This volume is the review and examination Syllabus for junior college entry to undergraduate science and engineering, intended for candidates with junior college graduation level who are applying for science (excluding biological science, geographical science, environmental science, and psychology) and engineering majors.
