On this solid foundation of 20 years of practice and theoretical advancement, the 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China established Deng Xiaoping Theory as the Party's guiding ideology in its constitution,: "Raise high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory and comprehensively advance the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics into the 21st century."
