Others are ordered by seniority from generals to lieutenant generals, and within the same rank, by stroke order of surnames. Generals promoted between 1955 and 1964, including those promoted to higher ranks in 1988 or later, are introduced in the text but not listed in the roster order. The volume includes 10 marshals, 10 field marshals, 57 generals, and 177 lieutenant generals. 1360 lieutenant generals are divided between the second and third volumes.
