Some famous investigation reports written by Comrade Mao Zedong under extremely difficult conditions during the revolutionary war years, such as "Investigation of the Peasant Movement in Hunan," have been included in Selected Works of Mao Zedong. Others like "Investigation of Xunwu," "Investigation of Xingguo," "Investigation of Changgang Village," and "Investigation of Caixi Village" have also been included in Mao Zedong's Rural Investigation Collection, and are not included in this book. Additionally, two summaries at the end of the book describe two major investigation and research activities conducted by central leaders in the 1950s and 1960s.
