Features: This dictionary strives to present a comprehensive view of each historical phenomenon during its compilation, paying attention to incorporating new research findings. When selecting historical materials, it considers various aspects such as politics, economy, culture, and ethnicity. The arrangement of the book follows the order of ancient, modern, and contemporary periods for Chinese history. The chronological divisions for each historical period adopt the commonly accepted views in contemporary Chinese historiography. Entries for each historical period are organized in chronological order. Entries spanning longer historical periods are generally placed in the period of their first appearance. Entries that are difficult to arrange chronologically are placed at the end of the relevant historical period. For world history, the same chronological order of ancient, modern, and contemporary periods is followed, with divisions based on the latest views in Chinese historiography. Each historical period is first organized by country, followed by chronological order.
