Brothers Grimm were German folk literature collectors and compilers. Born into an official family, both studied law at the University of Marburg and worked together at the Kassel Library while also serving as professors at the University of G?ttingen. In 1841, they both became members of the Grimm Academy of Sciences. Together, they compiled Children's and Household Tales (published in its final version in 1857, containing 216 stories). Among them, famous works such as Cinderella, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Brave Little Tailor have become beloved masterpieces for children worldwide.
Additionally, starting in 1808, the Brothers Grimm began collecting German folk tales and published German Legends in two volumes, totaling 585 stories. They also wrote academic works such as German Grammar (1819–1837), History of the German Language (1848), and the first four volumes of German Dictionary (1852), contributing to the development of Germanic linguistics.
