Features: To showcase the achievements of landscape painting creation in China in recent years, the China Artists Association commissioned the Anhui Artists Association to organize the first National Landscape Painting Exhibition. After nearly a year of preparation, with the support and assistance of the Artists Associations in various provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, over 800 works were submitted. After careful evaluation by the judges, around 300 works were selected and exhibited in Hefei in October 1993. These works generally reflect the development status of landscape painting in China in recent years. In terms of subject matter, there has been expansion, and artists strive to express their genuine feelings for natural scenery through innovative and unique techniques. They are not overly the simple inheritance of traditional techniques, but rather skillfully absorb the strengths of other painting styles and appropriately integrate the new vitality of foreign art, all in pursuit of their own creative expression. What is even more pleasing is the flourishing growth of many young artists, with many unfamiliar names appearing among the award winners. The emergence of new talents and the promise of future successors will open up even brighter prospects for the prosperity of landscape painting in the future. This art album can be said to mark a new milestone in the development of landscape painting since the new era, but unfortunately, due to space limitations, not all selected works could be included, leaving some hidden gems unrepresented.
