Dream People has been adapted into a animated series by China Central Television (CCTV), making it the first large-scale youth-themed animation adapted from a domestic comic in CCTV's history. The theme song is performed by Super Girl Zhang Hanrun, and the series received an overwhelmingly positive response after its broadcast on CCTV. Yao Feila was born in 1974 in Wuhan, with ancestral roots in Meixian, Guangdong. A computer science prodigy from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, she is a leading figure in China's new comics movement. Since 1995, Yao Feila has been serializing People in the Forest in Beijing, setting a record for the longest-running comic series in China at the time. In 2004, 80.C was published, marking the first time a work by China's new comics was licensed overseas. Her works have been featured in the annual Asian/World Comics Summit exhibitions. She was one of only thirteen invitees to the 2001 Asian Comics Forum and has had her works showcased across Asia for two years. Her autographed prints are displayed in the Asian Anime Hall of Fame, making her one of the most important representatives of China's new comics over the past decade. Yao Feila's works, including Dream People and 80.C, reflect the dreams of contemporary youth and have been widely loved by cartoon enthusiasts. Under her brand SUMMWR, she has gathered a group of highly talented and promising peers, whose works occupy approximately one-sixth of the content in China's mainstream comic magazines.
