A tear that refuses to fall

Features: The path we have walked together is so brief, the warmth in our hands has been handed over to time. The flowers by the roadside are still blooming in full splendor. Yesterday was charming, tonight is withering, and it has nothing to do with the wind. I am such an ordinary woman, with patience that has been tempered over a thousand years, guarding that flickering candlelight in the wind and rain of a foreign land. After the candle goes out, I trudge to seek warmth. I don’t ask about the hardships of traveling under the stars or the struggles through wind and rain. I only hope the path before me grows longer, forgetting that the return journey behind me grows ever farther.
Xiang Fenren, a renowned free-lance writer known for her experiences in the complexities of life and her popularity online, writes with a gentle and elegant style, narrating the stories of life and existence. Her words are soothing and tranquil. She is both emotional and rational, and in her rationality lies perseverance—perseverance in love, perseverance in life, and perseverance in the pursuit of a better life. This book is another masterpiece by Xiang Fenren, following her previous work, Light a Cigarette to Burn Loneliness. Though it lacks the dramatic ups and downs of great sorrow or joy, it leaves readers lingering in endless reflection through its gentle and melodious prose.
In this book, you can perceive and meet great writers, musicians, thinkers, philosophers, religious figures, and scientists, as well as an ordinary person, an ordinary individual. Even though you may not have lived in the same era or region as them, nor have you become their friend, family, or even the one you love, as long as you pick up this book or that book, they will become such figures in your heart.
