Features: The original title of this book was Deep Prison, which was later revised by the author and renamed Sunlight Blooms Like Flowers. Its namesake television series was produced by Beijing Hailun Film and Television Company and was successively broadcast across the country in January 2006. This book is Haiyan's third novel reflecting the police theme after Never Say Goodbye and Jade Beauty. The story follows Liu Chuan, a graduate of the Police University, who works in a prison. Before resigning, he participates in a special transfer mission codenamed "Sleep"—letting the sole survivor of a bank robbery case, the culprit Shan Chenggong, escape. It was precisely this case that ensnared him, leading to his eventual imprisonment and entangling him in a complex story with his friend, rival, and three girls with different personalities and backgrounds. Liu Chuan, a graduate of the Police University, was assigned to Tianhe Prison purely due to his grandmother's life plan for him. However, after his father's passing, he was also ordered by his grandmother to take over the leadership of Wanhe Company, founded by his father and boasting assets exceeding one billion. Therefore, he resigns from the prison leadership—Captain Zhong Tianshui, who holds significant influence over his future life. Before leaving, Liu Chuan is required to participate in a special mission codenamed "Sleep," which ultimately plunges the arrogant Liu Chuan into an inescapable abyss and inflicts varying degrees of harm on the three women deeply in love with him. This diverges sharply from his grandmother's life plan for him, transforming him from a people's police officer into a criminal, leaving us in awe: "Fate is unpredictable."
