Professor Feng Qi of Huazhong Normal University reviewed it in People's Daily (June 2, 1989), Researcher Yu Dongkang of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences reviewed it in Philosophical Research (Issue 3, 1986), and Professor Pan Fuen of Fudan University reviewed it in the journal Shulin (Issue 3, 1986). They affirmed that the book is the first systematic and pioneering work on the history of Chinese ethical thought since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Over ten domestic newspapers and journals have published reviews or news about A Study of the History of Chinese Ethical Thought.
