Features: This book is one of a series of textbooks developed in line with the guidance of the Ministry of Education on textbook construction during the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period. It is designed to meet the goals of 21st-century talent cultivation—enhancing knowledge, self-learning abilities, and innovative awareness—primarily for use by students in long-term dental medicine programs. Based on the training objectives and curriculum characteristics of long-term dental medicine programs, this textbook is divided into fourteen chapters: Introduction, Skull, Temporomandibular Joint, Muscles, Salivary Glands, Blood Vessels, Lymph Nodes and Lymphatic Vessels, Nerves, Regional Anatomy of the Oral Cavity, Regional Anatomy of the Pharynx, Regional Anatomy of the Face, Regional Anatomy of the Neck, Regional Anatomy of the Skull, and Regional Anatomy of the Oral and Maxillofacial Head and Neck. All anatomical terms in the book are based on the "Terminology of Human Anatomy" published by the Commission on the Nomenclature of Human Anatomy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991. During the writing process of this textbook, efforts were made to emphasize a student-centered approach, reinforce fundamental knowledge and concepts, closely integrate clinical applications, and appropriately reflect recent advancements. To facilitate self-study and address the challenges of comprehension and memorization in anatomy learning, the book includes an increased number of illustrations to ensure close coordination between text and visuals, focusing on the hierarchical relationships of anatomical structures and strengthening three-dimensional spatial concepts. To enhance learning interest and guide students in applying basic anatomical knowledge to analyze and solve practical clinical diagnostic and treatment problems, each chapter (except the fourteenth) includes review questions and case analyses. These cases are used to explain and validate the learned anatomical theoretical knowledge, transforming passive learning into an active learning process. Additionally, the book includes an expanded section on oral and maxillofacial head and neck anatomy reflecting recent advancements. In terms of writing style, the book first covers systemic anatomy of the oral and maxillofacial region before moving on to regional anatomy, ensuring both systematicity and practicality. Beyond serving as a textbook for dental medicine, this book can also be referenced by clinicians in head and neck oncology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
