Features: Social and Economic Statistics, as a tool-oriented discipline with a strong emphasis on application, is a mandatory professional course for economics and management majors in universities. Its value and role are evident. However, years of practical teaching experience have made us aware of the shortcomings of current social and economic statistics textbooks, such as overly complex theoretical explanations and a lack of practical applications and case studies. This may result in students being unable to apply what they have learned to solve real-world statistical problems after graduation, leading to the inefficiency of statistical teaching. We have always believed that the teaching objectives for economics and management majors in social and economic statistics should focus on cultivating students' practical application skills based on their mastery of fundamental principles. Recognizing the deficiencies of existing textbooks in this regard, we embarked on the compilation of this textbook, which features clear theoretical explanations and abundant practical application cases, with the aim of better aligning with social and economic realities and providing more effective guidance and support for students' development of practical skills.
