Publish Date: 2005-12-01
Features: The "You and I, Ba Jin" series is dedicated to organizing and publishing Ba Jin's works and related materials. It is a series of illustrated readers that strive for readability and approachability. The series includes four sub-series: "New Collection of Writings," "Letters," "Conversations with Experts," and "Illustrated Catalog of Ba Jin's Collection." A significant portion of the content in these series is newly organized and published. The first three books launched in the "You and I, Ba Jin" series are:
- From "New Collection of Writings Series": Travel Notes—Diaries and Reflections on Visits to France, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, etc., 1979–1984 and Four Anti-Fascist Picture Albums Selected and Edited by Ba Jin;
- From "Conversations with Experts Series": Ba Lao and a Century—A Collection of Cultural Lectures in the "Getting Closer to Ba Jin" Series.
Travel Notes—Diaries and Reflections on Visits to France, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, etc., 1979–1984 includes diaries, reflections, speeches, and interviews by Ba Jin during his visits to France, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, and other countries from 1979 to 1984. It is the first time that relevant texts about Ba Jin's overseas visits during this period have been compiled and published in a concentrated manner. The diary section includes newly discovered and organized entries, making their debut in a standalone publication. The reflections section is drawn from Ba Jin's important late-career work Random Thoughts, while some of the speeches and interviews also contain content not included in the Complete Works of Ba Jin.
