Features: Modern brain physiology research shows that children around the age of 5 tend to reach maturity in brain development. This period is a critical time for intellectual development in children, and therefore, educational authorities advocate for three years of preschool education for children. Children aged 3 to 6 are highly curious and eager to learn, making it a pressing task for parents and educational authorities to provide them with education during this stage. What should they learn? The Ministry of Education's guidelines require "using books, paintings, and other various forms to spark children's interest in reading and writing, cultivating preschool reading and writing skills, and fostering their interest in common simple symbols and written characters in daily life." To this end, we have invited educators to write the "Starting Steps" series of preschool education readers. The "Starting Steps" series of preschool education readers consists of 10 titles, including "Language Starting Steps," "Intelligence Starting Steps," "Thinking Starting Steps," "Classical Poetry Starting Steps," "English Starting Steps," "Science Starting Steps," "Pinyin Starting Steps," "Chinese Characters Starting Steps," "Addition Starting Steps," and "Subtraction Starting Steps." These books feature simple, easy-to-understand content that progresses gradually according to children's cognitive abilities, using colors, images, text, and games to spark their learning interest. Through "learning while playing," they help develop children's cognitive, observational, memory, logical reasoning, judgment, and language expression skills, opening up their minds, enhancing their intellectual abilities, fostering competitiveness, and enabling them to smoothly transition into primary school learning and life.
