Features: Peter Pan is a fairy play and fairy tale by the renowned British writer J. M. Barrie (1860—1937), published in 1904. Barrie was born into a family of weavers in Scotland, graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1882, worked as an editor, moved to London in 1885, and began his career as a news commentator while also writing novels. Barrie had an early passion for drama. In 1897, he adapted his best-selling novel, The Little Minister, into a play, which was a success, and thereafter most of his works were plays. In 1928, Barrie was elected as the president of the British Writers' Association, and in 1930, he was appointed as the honorary principal of the University of Edinburgh. Over time, his plays were gradually forgotten, while Peter Pan became an immortal classic. This magical story begins with the ordinary life of an ordinary family: the Darling couple has three lovely children—Wendy, John, and Michael. Though not wealthy, their life is joyful. One day, their mother discovers the name Peter Pan in their hearts. One night, when the Darlings are out, Peter flies to their house, teaches the children to fly, and then takes them to Neverland, guided by a golden arrow made of sunlight. There, they live with other lost children who never grow up, cared for by Wendy, who is revered as their mother. They experience many thrilling adventures and spend unforgettable times together. Later, they miss their parents, and Peter takes them home. When Wendy grows up, her daughter and descendants continue to fly to Neverland with Peter, giving the children who never grow up a warm motherly love. As for Peter, he remains a child who never grows up.
