Features: Everyone hopes to achieve success, to break free from mediocrity, and become a high-performance individual. However, to become a high-performance individual, the first step is to complete a shift in mindset, and the second step is to take immediate action! High performance is not the exclusive right of outstanding individuals. As long as everyone follows the guidance of this book, they can immediately become high-performance individuals! The principles of conduct directly determine our future, while mindset fundamentally determines our future. The fundamental difference between people lies in their mindset. It can be said that the kind of mindset one has determines the kind of life one leads. If you want to move from failure and setbacks to success, from prejudice and error to correctness, from mediocrity to high performance, and further transcend high performance to achieve excellence, then you must change your mindset. Mindset forms thinking habits, and thinking habits ultimately form behavioral habits. Habits reflect and constitute character, and character ultimately determines one's destiny. Habits directly determine one's destiny. People's intentions, thinking, and behaviors (the application of knowledge and skills) are repeatedly repeated—this is habit. If habits follow objective principles—the laws of nature (principles) and social laws (morality, laws, social customs, collectively called morality)—we can achieve success; otherwise, we will only hit our heads against the wall. The eight habits, grounded in character and centered on objective principles, are the most powerful tools for achieving success.
A positive thinker gets positive results; a negative thinker gets negative results. Whether positive or negative, only you are making your own choices, and these choices form the trajectory of your life.
Habit One: Position and Direction First, Speed and Efficiency Second
If the direction and goals are wrong, the more effort and time you put in, the further you will be from your goal!
Habit Two: When You Truly Bravely Do What Is Important, Not Urgent, Your Actions Begin to Genuinely Have Power
When you consistently do this, it proves you have intelligent values, the right roles and goals, and the best action plan. As a result, you will gain personal independence and become your own true master.
Habit Three: In Work, Whether Dealing with Colleagues Within the Organization or Stakeholders Outside, You Will Find Disagreements and Conflicts Are Inevitable
If everyone insists on their own side and wants to win, often both sides suffer, and no one wins in the end. If all parties can approach the situation with a win-win mindset, a mutually beneficial path will emerge, and disagreements and conflicts can be resolved quickly. As a result, everyone realizes that they can all win!
Habit Four: Put Others First, Understand Others First, Then Earn Their Trust, and Only Then Can You Win Their Understanding and Influence Them
Habit Five: Differences Are Opportunities, Not Obstacles
Habit Six: Beyond High Performance Lies Excellence
To transcend high performance and achieve excellence, you must continuously improve yourself and constantly renew yourself—Habit Seven—while all the previous seven habits come from within us. True excellence lies within us—Habit Eight—and if we can discover it, we are one step closer to excellence.
