Features: Our "Research and Teaching Experiments on the Theory and Development of Imaginative Thinking" research team, based on the study of imaginative thinking, established the concept of two types of thinking and believed that both need to be well-developed. Using the new perspective of two types of thinking, we conducted in-depth research and exploration on several fundamental issues of intelligence: thinking, skills, abilities, and knowledge, as well as their interrelationships. Building on our research into the definition and characteristics of thinking, we further investigated the connotation of thinking: regarding the comprehensiveness of thinking; regarding the operability of thinking; regarding the sustainable development of thinking. This book synthesizes the theoretical research achievements of the research team over 15 years, effectively addressing several major issues in current intelligence theories. At the same time, it comparatively resolves the problems commonly found in primary and secondary school teaching—such as boredom, abstract difficulty, rote memorization, and high scores with low competence—thereby finding a path for the optimal development of adolescents' intelligence.
