Features: On New Year's Eve, Lord Widmerpool, on his way to visit friends, seeks help in the village where St. Paul's Church is located due to a car. The villagers warmly welcome him. It is an old community where people know each other and have been friends for generations. However, the flu is about to strike the area. On New Year's Eve, one of the patients, Mrs. Thorpe, dies. The villagers ring the funeral bell for her and bury her. Soon after, her husband also dies. To bury the couple together, they dig up Mrs. Thorpe's grave, only to find a terrifying scene: there lies a male corpse on top of Mrs. Thorpe's coffin! Even more horrifying is that the man is severely disfigured, and both his hands have been cut off. Who is he? No one knows; Why is he here? No one knows; Who put him here? No one knows. The police are helpless, and the vicar thinks of Lord Widmerpool.
