Features: The learning system of this book is basically as follows: The content in the section "Learning Materials" mainly consists of three parts: learning requirements, author (collection) or genre introduction, and learning procedures. The learning procedures are divided into several parts: overall perception, local understanding (Part 1 and Part 2), questioning and discussion, thinking and exploration, transfer training, and answers and translations.
Overall perception aims to help students grasp the content, writing style, language, and genre characteristics of the material at a general level, laying a foundation for subsequent local understanding.
Local Understanding Part 1 consists of annotations on the text, summaries of paragraph meanings, analysis of ambiguous points, and key elements of classical Chinese basics. In the classical Chinese basics section, there are classifications of homophones, verbal collocations, (ancient and modern differences), and the categorization of one-word multiple meanings for both real and functional words, as well as sentence patterns. This is very beneficial for students to firmly grasp classical Chinese words, phrases, and sentences. The section on analyzing ambiguous points involves interpreting controversial or difficult parts of the text, which not only helps students accurately understand the meanings of certain words and phrases but also cultivates their ability to comprehend language in specific contexts.
Local Understanding Part 2 includes the background of the text, appreciation of its content and writing style, thinking frames, and thinking and exploration. In the section on content appreciation and writing characteristics, emphasis is placed on the appreciation of the content and writing techniques of classical Chinese poems and prose. This part addresses the common issue where general teachers may lack sufficient resources to analyze writing characteristics when teaching classical Chinese, and it provides direct help for students to self-study classical Chinese, develop their ability to understand and appreciate poetry and prose, and perform well on exams that require analysis of classical Chinese content and writing techniques.
The section on thinking and exploration consists of questioning and discussion and association and reflection. Questioning and discussion involves critical examination of the content and ideas of the text, including different analyses and evaluations of its content, ideas, and the author's attitude. Association and reflection explores the impact of the text's content on readers, its connections to contemporary society, the influence on readers, the inspiration provided by the author's writing talent, and comparisons with other works. This section focuses on inspiring perspectives, which will greatly enhance students' thinking abilities, thinking structures, and broaden their cognitive capacity. It also helps students develop the ability to learn from the past and apply it to the present.
Transfer training involves exercises on new classical Chinese texts based on exam question types, focusing on understanding words, phrases, sentences, and the content and writing techniques of the text. To facilitate learning and practice, reference answers and explanations, as well as translations of the classical Chinese texts, are provided after the transfer training exercises.
The entire learning program is relatively comprehensive and will meet the needs of students studying classical Chinese poems and prose.
