Features: "China Modernization Report 2006" focuses on the study of social modernization. It employs a combination of temporal analysis, cross-sectional analysis, quantitative analysis, and theoretical analysis to examine the 300-year history of global social modernization. The report completes a quantitative evaluation of social modernization in 131 countries over the past 53 years, summarizes 30 long-term trends, 12 insights, and 8 experiences of global social modernization, expands classic social modernization theories, and summarizes the basic principles of broad social modernization. It proposes 10 recommendations to promote China's social modernization, including a roadmap for China's social modernization. This report also completes a quantitative evaluation of China's social modernization process since the founding of the People's Republic of China (1950–2003) and an analysis of the World Modernization Index in 2003, providing a wealth of basic data and useful information for macro-level decision-making in China's modernization efforts. Currently, humanity is accelerating its transition to a knowledge-based society, with rapid advancements in science and technology and social development, and scientific exploration has no bounds. We hope the research group can stay at the forefront of global development and continue to scale new heights in modernization research.
