Features: In line with the needs of disciplinary development and teaching reform, the university decided to appropriately revise the original "Political Economy" textbook. For this purpose, we organized teachers across the university who are involved in political economy teaching to participate in the discussion and writing work for this textbook revision, thereby broadening the scope of the effort. During the revision process, we adhered to two principles: First, guided by the spirit of the Party's 15th and 16th National Congresses, we aimed to reflect the new economy and progress in China's economic system reform, as well as the new changes in domestic and international markets and economic systems. Second, we tracked the recent developments in basic theoretical research in political economy within academia, striving to incorporate new perspectives and research findings from the theoretical community. The purpose of doing so was to make the textbook more relevant to the times and practice, thereby enhancing its readability. In the revised textbook, nearly half of the content is newly added. A key feature of political economy is its practicality. The purpose of studying and researching Marxist political economy is not to memorize its theoretical conclusions but to use it to guide China's socialist economic reform and opening-up and economic development. In other words, it is not about empty theorizing but about emphasizing practice. Based on this consideration, the revised textbook has strengthened the connection between its theoretical exposition and socialist economic practice.
