Features: The Gaokao Red Book Series of test papers revolves around the concept of "mastering the basics, breaking through key points, and steadily improving." Since its inception in 2001, it has undergone continuous refinement and development, now forming seven sets of test papers: "Comprehensive Review Test Papers," "Subject Review Test Papers," "Standardized Test Papers Newly Compiled by Top Schools Nationwide," "Crash Course Test Papers for Major National Exams," "Express Information Test Papers," "Authoritative Prediction Test Papers," and "Exam Test Papers by Top Schools Nationwide." These papers follow a progression from fundamentals to advanced levels, forming a complete overall review system that aligns with each stage of Gaokao preparation, covering the entire process of Gaokao review. With excellent quality, quick and accurate information, and novel question types and themes, the series has won the deep appreciation of candidates, becoming a leading brand in Gaokao comprehensive review. The Gaokao Red Book Series has consistently predicted questions from the national Gaokao paper and those of independent provincial/municipal Gaokao papers for many years, with the number and value of correct predictions increasing year by year (details can be found on the back cover and inside back cover of this book).
For this edition, we have specially invited senior teachers and experts from schools such as Huanggang High School, Qidong High School, Peking University High School, Hangzhou No. 2 High School, Shandong Provincial Experimental High School, Fuzhou No. 1 High School, Hunan Normal University High School, Liaoning Provincial Experimental High School, South China Normal University High School, Jiangxi Normal University High School, and Northwest Polytechnical University High School to personally author the "2006 Crash Course Test Papers for Major National Exams." The questions selected for these papers are highly contemporary, fresh in content, and feature flexible and varied assessment angles, enabling them to test students' mastery of fundamental knowledge while also cultivating their ability to apply knowledge comprehensively.
The "2006 Crash Course Test Papers for Major National Exams" in the Gaokao Red Book Series consists of twelve volumes: Chinese, Mathematics, English (two versions—listening and non-listening, with the listening version accompanied by an audio tape), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Politics, History, Geography, Liberal Arts Comprehensive, and Science Comprehensive. Each volume includes three sections: "2006 Crash Course Test Papers for Major National Exams," "Preparation Guidance by Top Teachers," and "Answer Key with Detailed Explanations." The question types, quantities, and scoring of the Chinese, Mathematics, Liberal Arts Comprehensive, and Science Comprehensive papers are completely modeled after the 2005 national Gaokao paper. The English version is published in two versions—listening and non-listening. The non-listening version follows the pattern of the national Gaokao paper (Version III), while the listening version follows the pattern of the national Gaokao papers (Versions I and II). In the Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Politics, History, and Geography papers, Physics and Chemistry each have a total score of 120 points, while Biology, Politics, History, and Geography each have a total score of 100 points. The question types and scoring ratios are consistent with the second-year papers of the liberal arts and science comprehensive exams, making them suitable for independent review of each subject.
The "Preparation Guidance by Top Teachers" aims to help students in the third round of review to organize textbook knowledge, grasp key and difficult points, improve exam-taking and problem-solving skills, analyze common pitfalls, and quickly achieve the ability to generalize and integrate knowledge. The "Answer Key with Detailed Explanations" provides accurate answers and thorough hints, especially offering multiple solution processes for questions with multiple correct approaches.
The English listening audio tape accompanying the "2006 Crash Course Test Papers for Major National Exams" in the Gaokao Red Book Series brings a significant surprise to candidates—this time, we have invited Paul Denman, the designated expert for English listening in the annual national Gaokao exam.
