Editor's Note – Classics: This series selects and compiles 100 outstanding original children's literature works by 100 Chinese children's literature writers from the early 20th century to the present. The criteria for selection include: first, the social impact of the works, their popularity among young readers, and the breadth of their influence on them; second, their contributions to the development of Chinese children's literature; and third, their creative vitality, including a strong sense of mission and long-term concern for the growth of minors, as well as sustained engagement in children's literature creation.
Comprehensiveness: This series is the most complete collection of modern and contemporary Chinese children's literature. It includes: first, the elite figures among five generations of Chinese children's literature writers since the May Fourth New Culture Movement in the last century; second, the 100 selected writers reflect the multicultural diversity of the Chinese nation, while also presenting a panoramic view of the mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong; and third, the 100 works cover all genres of modern children's literature, making it the most comprehensive compilation of original Chinese children's literature.
Authority: This series is edited by a high-end selection committee composed of the most authoritative children's literature experts in China today, listed in order of age: Yan Wenjing, Shu Peide, Jin Bo, Fan Faji, Zhang Luozhi, Wang Quangen, Gao Hongbo, and Cao Wenxuan. They are all authoritative professors of children's literature and renowned writers who are most familiar with the history and current state of Chinese children's literature creation and understand children's reading psychology.
Readability: Only outstanding children's literature that has reached the of young readers can be considered a living, true classic. Through meticulous planning and editing, we will design and package the works to align with the aesthetic habits of young readers, enabling the new generation to accept and appreciate these Chinese original children's literature classics that have nourished the hearts and minds of generations of young people.
