Editor's Note – Classics: This series selects and compiles 100 outstanding original works of children's literature by 100 Chinese children's literature writers from the early 20th century to the present. The criteria for selection include: first, the social impact of the works, their popularity among young readers, and the breadth of their influence; second, their contributions to the development of Chinese children's literature; and third, their creative vitality, including a strong sense of mission to long-term concern for the growth of minors and sustained engagement in children's literature creation.
Comprehensiveness: This series is the most complete collection of outstanding contemporary and modern Chinese children's literature. It includes: first, the elite figures among five generations of Chinese children's literature writers since the May Fourth New Culture Movement in the early 20th century; second, the 100 selected writers reflect the multi-ethnic diversity of the Chinese nation, while also presenting a panoramic view of the mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong; third, the 100 works cover all genres of modern children's literature, making it the most comprehensive compilation of original Chinese children's literature.
Authority: This series is curated by a high-end selection committee composed of the most authoritative children's literature experts in China today (listed in chronological order): Yan Wenjing, Shu Peide, Jin Bo, Fan Faji, Zhang Luzhi, Wang Quangen, Gao Hongbo, and Cao Wenxuan. They are all authoritative professors of children's literature and renowned writers who are most familiar with the history and current state of Chinese children's literature creation and understand children's reading psychology.
