Features: Compared to Peking Opera, Tangzi, and other opera genres, Ping Opera is a relatively young genre. In the early 20th century, it originated from the folk art "Lianhua Luo" in the Tangshan area of Hebei Province. Over the past century, it has gone through various forms of development and gradually grown into one of the major opera genres popular across the country. This book mainly selects and compiles outstanding vocal pieces of Ping Opera that have been well-received by audiences through stage practice since the founding of the People's Republic of China, including a small number of creative achievements from the past two decades. The vocal pieces are categorized into eight roles of Ping Opera: Qingyi (young female role), Huadan (young female role with comedic elements), Laodan (elderly female role), Caidan (young female clown), Laosheng (elderly male role), Xiaosheng (young male role), Huahen (painted-face male role), and Xiaohuahen (young painted-face male role). Although this book cannot cover all the classic vocal pieces from various historical periods and troupes since the establishment of Ping Opera, it includes classic repertoire from major Ping Opera troupes in China, Tianjin, Shenyang, Harbin, and Changchun, reflecting to some extent the inheritance and development of Ping Opera. The publication of this book not only meets the needs of Ping Opera enthusiasts for classic vocal pieces but also plays a role in promoting and popularizing the art of Ping Opera, carrying forward its legacy.
