Features: The awareness and intentional exploration of traditional Chinese culture often use historical or cultural heritage to interpret the civilization of Greater China. When I saw the mascot, I didn’t experience a strong sense of disappointment but rather naturally identified with the designer’s creative intent. Combined with the textual annotations about the mascot, I gained a deeper understanding of the various cultural origins and practical foundations embedded within it. After analyzing the visual impact of the graphic itself, I began to brainstorm solutions for how to harmonize the existing graphic with the visual relationship of the stamp product. The first element that came to mind was the art of calligraphy and painting, which has accompanied the development of Chinese culture for millennia. Using the brushwork and artistic conception of Chinese painting to complement the mascot graphic with a highly traditional Chinese style, achieving unity in artistic conception and resonance in brushwork. Combining modern and traditional elements to create a visual arrangement that aligns with contemporary aesthetics. This idea solidified immediately and was fully reflected in the subsequent design concept. The set includes 36 Olympic Micro and Fuwa stamps and 5 first-day covers. Issued by China Postage Stamp Corporation.
