Features: The construction of political civilization is a crucial factor in the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics, a key element in implementing the scientific outlook on development, promoting comprehensive social progress, and fostering the all-round development of individuals. At the same time, political civilization is also a universal and significant topic. Over the past decade, especially in recent years, theoretical research on political civilization in China has made significant progress. Whether as an action slogan or as a theoretical and practical issue, political civilization has garnered widespread attention and recognition. Currently, the rapid development of the market economy, the urgent need to build a harmonious society, and the severe challenges of enhancing the Party's governance capacity have all highlighted the issue of political civilization. Theoretical research on political civilization requires a fresh perspective, and some major and acute social realities need to be elevated to the level of fundamental theory, requiring new explanations and summaries. Here, some views are proposed on certain theoretical and methodological issues in the study of political civilization, especially on the research of democratic politics as the core of political civilization. These issues include: the relationship between political civilization and political democracy, the relationship between political democracy and the market economy, the relationship between the general and the specific of political democracy, and the relationship between democracy and science, among others.
