Cangjie was punished for using a net to catch fish and went alone into the great forest to capture the one-eyed old wolf. Fortunately, he was helped by Xiaofengzi. A strange laughing disease broke out in his tribe, and the black sorcerer falsely accused Cangjie, throwing him into the ghost hole to kill him. Cangjie was rescued by Grandpa Ximeng of Taiji, and learned the secret formula for the cure. Together with Pianpian and Xiaofengzi, he cleverly obtained the monster's blood, cured the patients, and the truth came to light. Cangjie braved the snow to find his mother and was inspired by the tracks of birds and animals in the snow to create pictographic characters. The event shook the heavens, and humans, gods, ghosts, and spirits were all delighted, doing everything possible to create an extraordinary world to inspire Cangjie to create characters. The Grand Lady, out of ignorance and to monopolize the gold Cangjie brought, persuaded Youzhuo to burn the characters. Jibo, the grandmother, protested by setting herself on fire. Forced, Cangjie, Pianpian, and Youji rode the giant Peng bird to seek refuge with his maternal grandfather. They were tricked by the black sorcerer Wu A, fell halfway into a fire, and were captured by Youjinshi, who held a ceremony to sacrifice to the furnace god.
