Features: This collection compiles personal essays and, as if hosting a dinner party. It's more like a home banquet, not a restaurant. In my view, a personal anthology is akin to a home banquet, while selected works are like restaurant meals. After compiling this personal collection, I thought, "Nowadays, people have eaten everything!" and felt uneasy. Let's serve seafood—however, the city I live in is far from the sea, so I worry about its freshness. Let's serve mountain delicacies—given the harsh environment, it's almost a barren mountain, and occasionally I might find a few mushrooms. In the end, I'll eat what I can, and the guests will eat what I serve. But then I thought, "Nowadays, people have eaten everything!" and felt at ease. When hosting a dinner party, the host often says, "Please forgive my negligence, and these are humble offerings." I hope my essays can truly be humble offerings—what a lofty realm! After all, people are sustained by humble offerings, and life is lived through them. Although my essays have largely avoided lavish dishes, they still contain some small delicacies, which I am not entirely satisfied with. Apart from this, I have always been content with myself. At this moment, I humbly regard this collection as humble offerings, and I am enjoying it on a fine day—what an extravagant indulgence! In this era, I don't merely consider this indulgence as a matter of mindset; letting go can make it so. After the host says those polite words, the guests must respond with, "Oh, not at all, thank you, thank you." Only then is it harmonious. The beauty of a fine day is indeed true.
