Features: The Call of the Wild is one of the global classics about dogs, having touched the hearts of countless readers over more than six decades. Lassie is Joe's beloved dog, but when Joe's father loses his job, she is sold to a wealthy duke. She escapes three times and is sent back three times by the honest former owner. Finally, the duke takes Lassie to Scotland, and miraculously, she completes this thousands-of-miles-long journey back home alone. The story was adapted into a film, and Elizabeth Taylor became a star at the age of 12 after playing the granddaughter of the duke in the same-named movie.
