Features: This book is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, "Introduction," it introduces the purpose, significance, and methods of the research. The research purpose can be diverse, and the application of such research findings can also be diverse. The significance of the research is multifaceted, including theoretical, practical, and historical significance, all of which are addressed in the "Introduction." Methodologically, after reading through the book, one will find that it consistently adheres to the perspective of dialectical materialism to explain linguistic phenomena. In terms of specific methods, based on the needs of objective linguistic phenomena, all verbs are categorized into six major groups based on their external forms of verb case control. Then, 25 verb groups are further divided based on the categorical meaning embedded in the lexical meaning of the verbs. In the second chapter, "Overall Research on the Meaning of Japanese Verbs," through a detailed analysis of these 25 verb groups, the book presents their overall picture and forms a framework for the system of verb meanings. In important chapters, corresponding Chinese verbs are also analyzed and summarized to some extent as supporting evidence. In the third chapter, "Individual Research on the Meaning of Japanese Verbs," the book provides a comprehensive analysis of 30 commonly used Japanese verbs. In addition to discussing their basic meanings, it also explores the generation of their derived meanings.
